Chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) can be seen in young patients with multiple areas of central RPE changes in combination with focal or diffuse leakage not related to choroidal neovascularization. Previous history of acute CSCR is suspected and the recovery as well as the prognosis for visual acuity and the development of new lesions is uncertain. In order to evaluate the long-term visual prognosis in patients with chronic CSCR and to describe the clinical and angiographic varieties as well as the possibilities of laser treatment a re-evaluation of patients with chronic CSCR diagnosed between 1980 and 1990 was performed.
