Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) are two major techniques for high-precision positioning. Successful Integer Ambiguity Resolution (IAR) is crucial for these techniques to achieve faster and more accurate GNSS positioning. To do so, the receiver and satellite hardware biases (or delays) need to be either eliminated or calibrated. This study describes how the hardware bias is handled in both RTK and PPP techniques for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) satellites. In addition, the so-called inter-frequency phase bias for the Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) satellites, i.e. GLONASS ones, is also considered in order to achieve the integer nature for inhomogeneous receivers. Results from various case studies are presented. The RTK results in our case study indicate that the GLONASS only solutions can be as good as the GPS only ones. Using these two constellations significantly improves the position precision for both ambiguity-float and fixed RTK solutions. The GLONASS IAR results in a significant improvement for PPP solutions, particularly in small regional networks, while contributes some marginal improvement on top of PPP solutions that have GPS IAR already enabled.
