As previously reported to this institution the task was one of producing an accurate replica of the riveted hull for the paddle steamer Medway Queen, to do this technical consultants to the Medway Queen Preservation Society (MQPS), together with David Abels as the build contractor, set out in late 2008 to interpret the 1924 steelwork drawings as described in a paper to RINA in 2009 (Ref. 1). The successful outcome of this work, the procedures put in place to monitor and accept the work leading to the delivery of the hull of the vessel to Gillingham Pier are all covered here by this paper.
