XRD and micro structural analyses showed that CaTiO_3 forms substitutional solid solutions with REA1O_3 and REGaO_3 (RE = La, Nd, Sm). With an increase in the concentration of REAlO_3 and REGaO_3 the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τ_f) and the relative permittivity (ε_r) decreased while the quality factor (Qxf) increased. The large positiveτ_f of CaTiO_3 was completely compensated with an equimolar substitution of 30-35 mol % of Ca~(2+) and Ti~(4+). The 0.7CaTiO_3-0.3SmAlO_3 solid solution exhibited aτ_f ≈ 0 ppm/K, aε_r= 45 and a Qxf = 42.000 GHz. Partial substitution of Ca~(2+) with Mg~(2+), Ba~(2+) and Sr~(2+) reduced the Q value and increased theτ_f.
