摘要

In this study, we proposed an approach to the problem of multimodality medical image fusion by using two dimensional discrete cosine transformation (2-D DCT). The proposed approach includes two fusion schemes. One uses a 'maximum selection rule' and the other employs a 'summation rule'. To evaluate the fusion result, mutual information (MI) is employed as a performance measurement. The experiment results demonstrate that the fusion scheme of this study is applicable for the clinic experiment.
