Collaboration between component suppliers and their OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers consists of the three main activities of designing the components to be used in the OEM's final product, of producing and delivering the components to the OEM, and of providing services for the delivered components. To perform these activities, communication between both companies is very crucial. With traditional techniques, phone, fax, printed documents, face-to-tace meetings, and even supported by e-mails, the communication is not well organized and inefficient. This paper describes a system and the related processes, which provide a homogenous communication platform and support more efficient collaboration with OEMs.
