We have measured the electron drift velocity and the effective ionisation coefficient of C_(2)F_(4)-Xe mixtures with 1percent and 5percent content of C_(2)F_(4). A well defined region of negative differential conductivity was found for the two mixtures. Contrary to the Penning ionisation effects found in the C_(2)F_(4)-Ar mixtures, such effect seems not to occur in the C_(2)F_(4)-Xe mixtures.
