This paper is concerned with application of the Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting (FETI) method to solution to contact problems. The FETI belongs to the family of domain decomposition methods for which a spatial domain is divided into a set of totally disconnected non-overlapping sub-domains with Lagrange multipliers enforcing compatibility at the interfaces. The principles the method stems from can naturally be applied to solution to the contact problems. We outline the theory the method is based on. Then results of numerical experiments are shown for the following cases: Comparison with the analytical solution for a Hertzian problem, (a), and for a Person's problem, (b), and computation of a geometrically nonlinear problem with the same geometry as in the first case but larger load, (c).
