This paper inquires into the general field of structural modification procedures. The aim here is to use such a process to take into account the effect of dampers on initially conservative structures. After the general presentation of the retained modal reanalysis method, we will present its application for structural dynamics when the modification is characterized by the addition of viscous dampers on the initial structure. The aim of this work, being to proceed with large structures and needing so the help of a computer, some numerical aspects of the implementation of the method are described before to show some typical numerical results obtained with a bending plate study.
