The International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP ) has been published in the alpha, beta I, and beta 2 versions that, together with forthcoming versions, are going to be translated into many languages. It is important that the translation process facilitates a valid and reliable translation. Experiences from two countries are given as well as recommendations for future work. There is a need for an ongoing development of the ICNP , including feedback from numerous countries to ICN.
