Increased acid deposition to fragile ecosystems is anticipated as population along Colorado's Front Range continues to grow. In particular, there is concern with regard to nitrogen deposition at high elevation ecosystems, which are sensitive to additional nutrient loading. This study presents the results from a year-long (January -December 2002) air quality simulation with an emphasis on deposition estimates of nitrogen, including ammonia, nitric acid and fine particulate nitrate.
