摘要

Hepatitis C virus (HCV), a separate genus in the Flaviviridae family, is a parenterally transmitted, enveloped RNA virus. HCV has a propensity to establish chronic infection in otherwise immunocompetent adults by interfering with both innate and adaptive immune responses. This chapter outlines and discusses the mechanisms that facilitate viral persistence and contribute to escape from innate and adaptive, humoral and cellular immune responses.
