Two multiple access schemes used for high bit rate II. THEORETICAL BACKGROUND mobile wireless communication systems are compared. This is achieved by modelling OFDM and CDMA downlink waveform signals in order to allow phase noise and frequency error performance analysis. Computation results show that, they seem to suffer similarly from frequency offset errors however differs slightly as far as phase noise is concerned. As most digital communication systems, CDMA and OFDM use a kind of time division for users to access the network. In this analysis focus is on a time slot of the downlink during which many bit streams are being received. Mathematical modelling helps the study of this process.
