摘要

Nuclear Materials Authority has discovered several important uranium occurrences in the northern part of the eastern desert in Gabal Gattar. One of the most important occurrences is hosted in El-Hammamat sediments occurring at the northern peripheries of G. Gattar granite pluton and d efined as GV. In this occurrence, uranium is associated with REEs. The present work is concerned with the recovery of uranium and REEs from the cured sample obtained from this local sediment of the eastern desert. The respective relevant optimum conditions for leaching procedures were determined. Under these conditions, about 98 and 66% of uranium and REEs have respectively become available for the organic solvent.
