摘要

MR brake in which the MR fluid is used has simple structure and good responsibility. Therefore the MR brake is expected to have a good adaptability for human-coexistence system. However, with respect to lower limbs orthosis, conventional MR brake is too large to fit it. Then, in this study we propose a shear flow-type MR brake with multi-layer disks and minute gaps (25-100 micro meters) in order to realize compact and high performance MR brake. In this report, a testing machine for investigating the characteristics of MR fluids in minute gaps is introduced.
