We recently developed a method for direct identification and/or sequencing of proteins by proteolytic digest in the electrospray capillary and simultaneous analysis of the resulting peptides by nanoESI MS and MS/MS [1]. Since this strategy yields high sequence coverages it was now applied to the analysis of hemoglobins (Hbs) directly from diluted blood samples.
