This paper reports the CO2/CH4 separation performance of mixed matrix membrane materials (MMMs) comprising dispersed phases as high as 65 vol.% in polyvinyl acetate (PVAc). Mixed CO2/CH4 permeation properties of MMMs with loadings of 50 vol.% zeolite 4A and 65 vol.% of a metal organic framework of copper and terephthalic acid (CuTPA) in PVAc are reported. Samples were first tested with a low CO2 partial pressure mixed feed to probe the MMMs performance below PVAc's CO2 plasticization pressure, p_(plast), and then tested with a high CO2 partial pressure mixed feed, well above P_(plast), to probe the MMMs performance under more industrially relevant conditions.
