Human p-amyloid (1-42) peptide (Figure 1) is a major component of the plaque deposits found in the brains of Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients [1]. Continued research into the pathology and potential therapeutics for AD has sustained demand for this peptide. Synthesis of the p-amyloid (1-42) peptide by conventional solid phase peptide synthesis has been reported to be difficult due to the high hydrophobicity of the C-terminal segment and on-resin aggregation [2].
