Today, most college graduates learn software through many different means—self learning, workshops, lab sessions, formal courses, etc. This study investigated the impact of gender and teaching methods on software learning,specifically,MS-Word and MS-Excel.From an experiment,we conclude that both lecture and gender are the factors that affect the skill level of MS-Excel,while these factors do not affect the skill level of MS-Word.In other words,MS-Excel needs to be taught through lecture while MS-Word can be effectively mastered by students on their own.
