EESI-MS rapidly measured MG in water samples with minimal pretreatment. EESI-MS tolerates matrix effect. Can malachite green (MG) be rapidly detected in aquiculture water? Although chromatographic methods are routine techniques for MG detection, sample pretreatment (e.g., extraction, derivatization) is needed and their consumables (e.g., solvent, columns, antibodies, SPE cartridges) are expensive. EESI (1-2) enables direct analysis of liquid samples with minimal pretreatment.
