The natural convection with discrete heat sources at the bottom wall in a square cavity is investigated using a finite volume based computational procedure. A square cavity with discrete heat flux at the bottom wall is analyzed with top and the left walls are adiabatic while the right wall is maintained at a constant temperature. The analysis is carriedout for a range of Raleigh's number 10~3 to 10~7. The cases are also examined with 25% opening at the right cold wall. Nusselt number increases monotonically with increase of Rayleigh number. The effect of opening at the right cold wall does not have significant effect on the heat transfer.
