Prognosis of Surgery Cases with Gastric Cancer which has Positive for Peritoneal Lavage Cytology and/or Peritoneal Dissemination
We examined our result of 74 surgery cases with pStage IV gastric cancer which has peritoneal lavage cytology(CY) and/or peritoneal dissemination(P). Among 74 cases, gastrectomy group(N = 56) had significantly good prognosis as compared with non-gastrectomy group (N = 18) (p=0.0009). Among gastrectomy group, 39 cases with CY1P0 had significantly good prognosis than 17 cases with CY1P1 (p=0.0003). Among 39 cases with CY1P0, 30 cases with adjuvant chemotherapy had significantly good prognosis than 9 cases without adjuvant chemotherapy (p=0.02). We assume that there will be possibility to live longer for gastric cancer with anti-cure factor CY1 only by combination of gastrectomy and postoperative chemotherapy.
