摘要

This article aims at analyzing which characteristics and activities of the Innovation Agency (IA) of the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) have been beneficial and which ones have been detrimental to alliances and partnerships formation with other organizations. Therefore, a qualitative case study is carried out. The choice of the case was done intentionally and the study was conducted from a semi structured interview guide. It is proposed a 'Discourse Analysis', as it provides subsidies to research and develop conclusions about this outbreak. From this, it was observed that the UFPR's IA main difficulties were the little support and provision of institutional resources and the lack of interest of researchers to work in partnerships. By contrast, as beneficial features for the encouragement of partnerships are the practical application of created knowledge by the institution and the possibility, with cooperation, of generating financial resources for the institution. For effective and better management and development of IA activities, there is the need for institutional restructuring.
