The purpose of this study is mental states estimation for preventing mental illness. Then, we focus on ECG affected by mood change during imagining the near future. We measure ECG during imagining the near future and define the four levels of mental states. We extract features in the ECG based on heart rate variability analysis and estimate the mental states using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Experimental results suggest that the features of HF might well be affected by mood change and the best SVM using the features get F-measure of 0.48. The result indicates the effectiveness of using ECG affected by mood change during imagining the near future for mental states estimation.
