摘要

In this paper, the development of the new corrosion resistant steel forupper deck plate of cargo oil tanks (COTs) will be described. Thiscorrosion resistant steel can decrease the general corrosion under thesevere corrosive condition of COTs around vapor phase. Corrosionresistance of this new steel has been confirmed through the laboratorycorrosion test which is specified by International MaritimeOrganization (IMO) in ‘IMO MSC.289(87)’ and this new steel satisfiesthe required performance as corrosion resistant steel regulated by IMOadequately. Corrosion resistance of this new steel has been alsoconfirmed by the onboard exposure test.
