摘要

In this paper, the adaptation of one of the latest numerical techniques used on the Computational Fluid Dynamics domain to the case of unsteady 1-D compressible flow through pipes with high ratios of cross section variation, is presented. The derived scheme can be classified as a TVD scheme (Total Variation Diminishing), and is based on the Roe's approximate solver to the Riemann's problem. A short review of methods is given first with a discussion about the necessity of deriving a new method for the calculation of pipes with cross section variation. Then a short description of the newly developed method is introduced, and the results for a number of test numerical examples are presented and compared with normal methods. Finally a comparison of calculated volumetric efficiency results with measured values is presented for two S.L engines.
