Liquid wetting and transport in a porous medium is governed by the properties of the liquid, liquid-medium surface interaction, and geometrical configurations of the porous medium. This paper describes the principles and methods of quantifying the wetting and transport properties of water in several fibrous structures. The water wetting contact angle and retention of woven and non woven cotton, cellulose filter, and other cellulose-containing materials are reported.
