The US Military uses models to analyze requirements for War Reserve Materials, and to analyze the ability of the Logistics communities to provide the materiel required to sustain an operation. This work includes a detailed plan representation; distributed collaborative tools that allow planners to develop, analyze, and revise these plans; and models that perform Logistics Sustainability Assessments of the plans. This paper describes the conceptual framework underlying several of these modeling efforts, and the plan representation they use.
