Direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) have been intensively studied due to many advantages such as high theoretical energy density,ease of handling,and low operation temperature.The high exchange current densities of methanol on Pt group metals make these the most suitable electrocatalytic materials for the anode in DMFC.However,pure Pt is easily poisoned by carbon monoxide (CO) as a by-product of methanol oxidation.
