Beyond strategic business vision, technology and infrastructure, there is a very important human side in business administration that plays critical role very often to make or break the success of strategic objectives of the enterprise. There are manystories from history and recent industry happenings that show how a negligent organization change management can result into catastrophic failures. Early ERP package implementation disasters are witness to such phenomenon.In the world of IT, enterprise integration domain has always been eluding the enterprises to deal with constant challenge of creating business value driven integration solutions. In our experience, majority of enterprise integration initiatives fail to deliver the expected business benefits not so much because of technology or other organizational aspects but mostly because of not having right people at right job doing right things. Investments made by enterprises are quite significant; some time as high as 35% of total IT budget. Strategic instrumentation of human side of IT not only can de-risk the investments but can also empower the IT to accomplish its strategic objectives. Authors in this paper share their experience and perspectives for enterprise integration domain (EAI) to highlight the critical factors related to people side of the enterprise.
