In 2004, Rocky Mountain Steel awarded SIEMENS VAI with a contract to modernize their existing liquid steel production by replacing two existing Electric Arc Furnaces with one High Power -^sHigh Capacity Modern EAR Installation of a new, more powerful transformer as well as improvement of the environmental situation by installing new duct work with dampers and by refurbishing the Bag Houses in accordance to the requirements of the new more powerful EAF were also part of the overall Modernization Project managed by Rocky Mountain Steel (RMSM).
