The 21st century has evidenced a technological revolution, which has dramatically affected the way knowledge and information is acquired, managed, distributed and shared globally. Unfortunately, in spite tremendous technological changes, traditional method of educating engineering students still prevails in most universities. In this method of teaching more emphasis is placed on understanding the solution process and hand calculations are a core activity. In this paper an alternative approach to the traditional method of teaching, which is problem based student-led learning, is proposed in which more emphasis is placed on developing a better and deeper understanding of the behaviour of the problem that is being investigated. In this approach the computer plays an important role.
