Besides physical characteristics, factors that could influence the chance of a successful pregnancy influence the choice of an egg donor by a recipient. The presented study evaluated these confounding variables in donors on pregnancy outcome in recipients. Neither the source of eggs (infertile donor sharing eggs or a paid donor), or age of donor (<30 vs. 31-35) lower pregnancy rates. The only category showing a lower pregnancy and implantation rate was an infertile donor with no history of prior pregnancy (not seen in paid donors). These new data should enable some recipients to choose a better physical or spiritual match and not eliminate a "perfect fit" donor for a factor, e.g., age >30 or eggs from an infertile donor that was previously wrongly perceived as a factor likely to reduce the chance of pregnancy.
