Assessment for Resistance of Existing Structures Based on Random Proof Loads

It is an important study content to derive resistance of components or structures for structural reliability assessment of existing structures, and the resistance evaluation is also the base of calculation for existing structural reliability. It is an attention problem widely to calculate the reliability for existing structures considering time-dependent of resistance. Generally, the time-dependent characteristic of structural resistance is an irreversible drop process with the maintenance of exception. The endured loads in the service history of existing structures are actual occurrence on structures, the probability distribution of structural resistance is a truncated distribution actually when the loads influence on structural resistance is considered. In this paper, based on the resistance characteristic of existing structures and probability theory, the influence of one random proof load on existing structural resistance is studied, and two random proof loads on resistance of existing building structural are also analyzed. The relevant calculation formulas for resistance are put forward when the proof loads are random loads. The analysis method for resistance of existing structures can be used to evaluate structural resistance when the structure has borne proof loads in service history, is also a estimation method of existing structural resistance for the structural reliability calculation.
