摘要

Many pollutants in the soils are subjected to oxidation processes, resulting in the formation of reactive intermediates that react with oxygen producing the various reactive oxygen species (ROS). For survival individual isolates of Comamonas sp., gram-negative bacteria, in the polluted environments, the production of catalase and dianisidine-peroxidase activity was important. A considerable diversity in microbial catalase and peroxidase responses to exogenic oxidative H_2O_2 stress resulted from hydroperoxidases variant of isolates, indicating a selective pressure of environment. We suppose that expression of microbial catalases can be involved not only in resistance to reactive oxygen species, but also in the degradation of specific pollutants.
