摘要

On the basis of doctoral dissertation, this study takes a new approach to the necessity of fitting together two differing operational cultures in the daily life of child in need of special support. The concept of combined upbringing and rehabilitation is created to deepen the essential meaning of collaborations between professionals and families. The study opens new perspectives, in part as weak signals, for developing new professional practices for combined upbringing and rehabilitation activities. The key outcome of the study is holistic determination of combined upbringing and rehabilitation activities in the way it is applied in the discussions of experts. In children's upbringing and rehabilitation, it is the first necessary to determine the needs of the child and the family, then the overall situation; only thereafter can one set out to build up the whole form its parts, e.g. from individual services.
