Product line software engineering is an emerging software engineering paradigm, which guides organizations towards the development of products from core assets rather than from scratch. Various methods have been made to apply on the development of software product lines. However, using of them can be difficult and time-consuming without the aid of practical guidelines. This research aims to provide specified and ordered guidelines to effectively enhance the reuse adequacy in software product line development. Since most developers have more difficulties at the product line analysis phase than other phases in the reuse project life cycle, this paper focuses on the analysis phase and proposes classified practices and guidelines adapted on stages of this phase. The authors have extensively performed several industrial information system product line projects and the guidelines described in this paper are based on these experiences, however the guidelines are applicable for most software product lines.
