In this study, we prepared stimulation-responsive polymer composed of two monomers, Vinylsulfonic acid, sodium salt (VSAS) and Methacrylic acid (MAA). From the solubility response of the copolymer to change in temperature, it is observed that the copolymer showed opposite thermo-responsive property against the conventional thermo-responsive polymer, that is, the copolymer is soluble at higher temperature and become insoluble at lower temperature in alcohol solution. Moreover, it was found that the solubility of the copolymer also responsed to alcohol concentration. Then, we applied the copolymer for a support of enzyme immobilization. In the experiment, invertase was used as a model enzyme. The conjugation of the MAA-VSAS copolymer with invertase was performed by peptide method. As a result, 11.8 - 14.8mg/g-polymer of invertase was immobilized. The result of enzymatic activity measurement showed that invertase had high activity after immobilization on the polymer.
