摘要

1. Regulatory models are capable tools in the planning and approvals process for a site: 1.1 Provides a standard modelling basis which, when used along with Approved Guidance Documents, allow both proponent and regulator to demonstrate the impact of a site 1.2 The current suite of regulatory models (Aermod, ISC, Calpuff) do not include fundamental physics to allow treatment of complex dispersion scenarios or evaluation of the effect of a complex wind environment 2. Using alternative modelling tools, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), it is possible to evaluate these parameters directly, in particular: 2.1 To assess site buildings and process equipment that could lead to a complex wind field that current regulatory models are incapable of addressing. 2.2 Conditions where dispersion may be improved through re-configuring the arrangement of release points.
