This paper reviews the history of economic development in Fujian and Taiwan, and analyses their changes from economic scale, economic structure, industrial development and key industries. Based on this, we give the path of Fujian industrial upgrading and give policy recommendations. Such recommendations include the need of pillar industries to rely on technology advances to upgrade, traditional industries to take advantage of geography to develop the economy and strategic emerging industries to expand the scale effect.
