The study of Andisol-Zeolite-Fly Ash-Activated Carbon (AZFC) composite has been conducted to observe its potential as an adsorbent for metal ion removal. This research was aimed to analyze the physic-chemical characteristics of AZFC on its purpose as adsorbent. In this research, for the preparation, andisol soil has been activated with calcination at 500°C. All of the materials are mashed and filtered until it passed the 150 mesh sieve. Characterization in this research used such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), and Surface Area Analyzer (SAA). Based on the results, the AZFC composite has the potential as an adsorbent for metal ion removal. Characterization using Atomic Adsorption Spectroscopy (AAS showed that all compositions could reduce Cr levels from 47.193 ppm to <0.0015 ppm.
