摘要

Marine fish juvenile production is usually based upon cultivated rotifers and Artemia nauplii as live feed organisms, but problems related to juvenile deformities and variable growth and survival are common. Copepod nauplii are the natural feed for these larvae, and usually results in better larval growth and survival than in larvae fed rotifers. Large scale production techniques for copepod (Acartia tonsa) eggs is now being developed, and may be beneficial for the cod juvenile quality in commercialproduction. The aim of this study was to use larval cod (Gadus morhud) and Ballan wrasse (Labrus bergylta) as model species to investigate the effects of live feed quality. We used cultivated Acartia tonsa nauplii or cultivated rotifers as the first livefeed organisms, and the effects on larval growth and survival, feeding activity, and digestive, muscle, and skeletal development were studied.
