摘要

In alpine catchments bed-load transport processes are of basic importance for the assessment of flood related hazard potential, the design of retention basins, intakes etc. High channel gradients, a rough structure of the river bed and a limited availability of potential sediment require specific calculation approaches and models to match all these conditions. The application of existing approaches and models does not provide a perfect simulation of the natural dynamics. However, it allows for a well-founded estimation of event-related bed-load volumes and a better understanding of the process characteristics.
