Since aflatoxin Bl (AFB1) is a major carcinogen produced in fungi Aspergillus flavus which is frequently found in food and agroproducts, the development of recombinant antibodies specific to AFB1 have been developed for rapid and sensitive detection of AFB1. For recombinant production using E. coli, the variable region genes of heavy (VH) and light (VL) chain fragments were cloned from the murine hybridoma cell line 2C12, and then assembled using a flexible linker, resulting in a single chain variable fragment against AFB1 consisting of VH, (Gly4Ser)3 linker and VL in a row (anti-AFB1 scFv).
