Genomic instability, a hallmark of cancer, is often associated with single nucleotide variations (SNVs) and copy number variations (CNVs). Traditionally, these mutations have required different identification methods because it has proven challenging to simultaneously achieve sufficient assay breadth to detect CNVs and depth to detect SNVs in samples with limited amounts of DNA. The objective of this study was to develop a new methodology for detection of SNVs and CNVs in a single assay.
