摘要

Realization of sustainably and autonomously working materials is the most important target of current chemistry. To realizing such dynamics, dissipative self-organization is required. Previously, we reported self-oscillatory flipping motion of co-crystal of oleic acid and azobenzene derivative(1) under continuous blue-light irradiation.1) It was the first report of mechanical motion of non-living material with dissipative self-organization of chemical reaction and crystalline phase transition. However, crystal structure of the co-crystal has not been clear. Recently, we also succeeded to demonstrate self-oscillatory flipping motion of crystal of 1 without fatty acids, and to reveal the crystal structure of the original phase.
