摘要

In a world where countries are improving their industrial competitiveness in the space sector and leveraging their strengths to grow in the space economy, the African countries have to invest a great deal of effort to establish and keep up with this ever-growing industry. This paper introduces the groundbreaking project premier in the space industry for improving the industrial space competitiveness of any region in the world, by adopting the use of the twelve pillars of the Global Competitive Index (GCI) of the World Economic Forum. This work was carried out by SpacEst. a team of students of the Space Studies Program 2019 which took place at the International Space University, from June to August 2019 in Strasbourg. France. This work was carried out to improve the industrial space competitiveness of Region Grand Est. This approach can be replicated for any region in the world. The current global space trends were analysed, as well as the industrial competitiveness of Region Grand Est. This was achieved through innovative methodologies which then gave a result of the pillars of industrial competitiveness. Areas to be enhanced were determined (labor market efficiency, technological readiness, business sophistication and innovation), and policies matching these pillars were recommended with direct relation to the industry. As this work can be used by any country , this paper gives a general introduction to the approach and how African countries can make use of it. In the final section of this paper. Pillar 12 is explored. where policy recommendations are suggested to the African Space Agency and the national bodies under it. The place of youths in this implementation is emphasized and policies are recommended to African Union Commission. It is advised that this work is adopted into every country within the continent, as this gives the edge to improve industrial space competitiveness in Africa with an already established framework. This paper also highlights the econom
