In 2008, the Jordan Nuclear Energy Commission was divided into two independent entities, the Jordan Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC). JAEC's goal is to promote and develop peaceful utilization of atomic energy. To achieve this goal, JAEC cooperates with the IAEA and other international partners to ensure integration of nuclear safety, security and safeguards best practices into Jordan's nuclear operations. This presentation will outline the steps JAEC has taken to integrate nuclear safety and security into all aspects of its nuclear infrastructure planning including training programs.
