摘要

Tellurium oxide glasses are very good candidates for the production of optical waveguides for low loss communications in the visible and near-mid infrared region of the spectrum, more efficient lasers, amplifiers and nonlinear devices. These glasses accept large concentration of rare-earth ions, exhibit large transmittance window (400-5000 nm) have low cutoff phonon energy (~700 cm~(-1)) and show large chemical stability. Moreover, the luminescence properties of rare-earth doped tellurium oxide gasses have also draw the attention of many scientists around the world (1-3) since these materials allow for the production of efficient optical amplifiers.
