A projection method for the correction of interpolation coefficients for overset grid CFDsimulationsrnwith grid overlap on body surfaces is presented. The concept of a virtualrninterpolation point ensures an interpolation with identical wall distance on grids withrndifferent surface discretizations. The algorithm can be applied for structured as well as forrnunstructured grids. Implementation issues and parallelization of the algorithm are discussed.rnFlow simulations for a 2D NACA0012 airfoil, a configuration considered in the 4th AIAArnDrag Prediction Workshop and the DLR F11 high lift configuration are used to validate thernmethod. The applications demonstrate the accurate interpolation of boundary layer datarnclose to curved surfaces.
